英文摘要 | It is well known that the aluminum wheels have the merits of light, beauty and heat diffusion quickly. There is a growth in the number of automobile wheels manufactured by low pressure die casting of aluminum alloys owing to the demand of higher strength and yield for the wheel. Therefore, this paper describes how computer simulation can help foundrymen increase the yield and quality of aluminum wheels. The computational conditions for the modeling are given in detail, and are based on process descriptions provided by the foundry as well as actual process parameters measured. The simulation was carried out in three dimensions and the results for mold filling, freezing sequences and prediction of porosity are presented. The simulation results could improve the quality of aluminum wheels with the aid of computer simulation. |
