英文摘要 | On the assumption that there is a causal relationship between elevated exposure to extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMF) and leukemia, brain tumous and female breast cancer, the relevance of ELF-EMF to the health of a community. With relative risk estimates between 1.38 and 2.50 and 1 % of the population exposed to ELF-EUF between 0.50 % and 1.48 % of leukemia and brain tumous, and 0.38 % of female breast cancers are estimated to be attributable to their exposure to ELF-EMF. Additionally, it is estimated that between 5.11 % and 45.93 % of leukemia are attributable to known or highly suspected risk factors other than ELF-EMF. The corresponding extimations for adult brain tumous, childhood brain tumous and female breast cancers are 1.28 % to 12.14 %, 0.44 % to 7.67 %, and 11.92 % to 100.00 %, respectively. The authors conclude that most leukemia and female breast cancers are attributable to exposures other than ELF-EMF; and ELF-EMF and the other exposures have similar relevance to the risk of brain tumous. |
