英文摘要 | International research carried out over the past 50 years has demonstrated that acoustic emission can be used to detect deformation of soil and rock bodies. Recent advances in the power and portability of instrumentation have lead to the development of field systems which are capable of recording and processing the acoustic emission (AE) signal. If this instrumentation is used in conjunction with active wave guides it is possible to provide early indications of slope instability, and to obtain information on changes in the relative stability of a slope which is subjected to destabilising factors. In two recent case histories the acoustic emission technique has been compared with deformation monitoring. At an actively eroding unstable coastal slope, acoustic emission activity was found to correlate with slope deformation rates. At a second site, formed in stiff clay, acoustic emission were detected during pre-failure deformation of the slope, where AE proved to be more sensitive to ground movements than inclinometer measurements. These case histories demonstrate the factors controlling the design, use and interpretation of a field acoustic emission system and the typical data obtained. |
