| 英文摘要 | The conventional and composite erbium-doped fiber amplifer modules using our home-made erbium-doped fibers pumped by 0.98μm high power laser diodes have been made. For the composite type, the small signal gains are 43 dB at 1532 nm and 33dB at 1550 nm, and the gain improvements at above wavelengths are 3.0 dB and 5.0 dB, respectively, compared to the conventional type; the noise figures are 4.5 dB and 4.0 dB, respectively, that the values of noise figure are closed to the quantum limit value, if the insertion losses of optical isolators and dichroic couplers are excluded, and the noise figure improvements at above wavelengths are 1.5dB and 0.9 dB, respectively. This high gain and low noise composite erbium-doped fiber amplifier module used as a preamplifier has improved the receiver sensitivity from –38.3 dBm to –46.5 dBm in the field trial of repeaterless transmission. Beside that, a power amplifier with +15 dBm output power has been made, and greatly increases the transmitter output power. |
