英文摘要 | The paper mainly includes two parts. The former forcuses on introducing some representative ideas of the university of tradition and modern. Typically, some contemporary scholars' theories on "liberal education", such as those of Allan Bloom H.D. Hirsch, Yaw-ji Jin, and Chii-jeng Ye-h, are discussed. The latter examines the lately ideas of the university of postmodernism, including critiques and questions about the idea of tradition as Well as the suggestions of "counter-text" and "counter-memory" concerning the border pedagogy which Henry Giroux, the educationtheorist of postmodernism, had articulated in his "Postmodern Education." The advocators of tradition thought the university is declining, which is rejected by the postmodernists who considered that the university is reviving. |
