| 中文摘要 | 本文經由中美兩國大學校園休閒運動部門主管的角度,探討其應具備之基本能力 及這些能力的相對重要性。進而檢驗這些主管的意見是否與其所任職之學校規模,或不同文 化背景產生顯著性差異。調查結果顯示不同組織規模或文化間確實存在部份共同性及差異性 。本研究成果可供教育界及業界將來發展休閒運動相關課程,建立證照制度,或提供自我進 修及自我評鑑之參考。 |
| 英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to determine and compare the responses of campus recreational sports directors at selected four-year colleges and universities in the US and the ROC in terms of their perceived competencies needed to manage a campus recreational sports department and the level of importance of these competencies. The study also examined if there were differences in perceived competencies and their imprtance for collegiate recreational sports directors in the US in regard to organizational size. A profile of personal and professional characteristics of these directors were also collected and explored. The results identified 21 of 60 competency items possessed significant differences among three school groups. The examination also revealed that 24 of the 60 competency items had significant differences between respondents of two countries. Overall, there were some common items of competency between the top ten competencies of wo countries and three school groups in the US: staff communications, communication with participants, empolyee motivation, decision making process, problem solving, budget preparation, bublic relations, and handling complaints of participants. Some were different; legal liability, budget control, writing skills, delegating, supervision, first aid, intramural sports, facility planning, instructing ability, and special events. The findings might be used in curriculum development, establishing standards for certification, increasing global understanding, and by students and practitioners for self-improvement and evaluation. |
