英文摘要 | Effect of calorie/nitrogen (kcal/N) ratio and energy intake on the recovery (body weight, liver weight, liver compositions and hematological values) from 70 hepatectomy was studied in rats. Rats weighing about 250g were partially hepa tectomized and given limited or free amounts of one of the 6 diets with variouskcal/N ratio. Sham-operated rats served as controls. The daily energy intakes of hepatectomized rats were about 39, 59, and 65 kcal. Nitrogen intakes at eachenergy level were about 0.20, 0.38 and 0.55 gN/day. Sham-operated rats weremaintained on diets of about 84 kcal/day with 0.26, 0.51 or 0.72 gN/day. At theenergy intake level of about 39 kcal/day, kcal/N ratio did not have any significant effect on recovery. However, when the energy intakes were about 59 and65 kcal/day, diets of 114 kcal/gN (22 protein) and 167 kcal/gN (15 .protein)had similar effect on recovery and were better than the diet of 313 kcal/gN (8protein) and the results of sham-operated rats were similar as observed in hepatectomized rats. The results suggest that for the recovery of hepatectomy, a dietof particularly low kcal/N ratio (high protein diet) does not have a significantadvantage and the energy level has a greater impact than the protein .level. |
