| 英文摘要 | In the Spring and Autumn period (770-453B.C.), the dukes or princes, as rulers of feudal states, ignored the King of all China and strove for supremacy, resulting in endless wars and conferences for peace. In order to conduct their state affairs, the rulers had to enlist able men in order to help consolidate their positions. It was critical to the country's success or failure whether the qualification of her able men was superior or inferior to those of others, and Tso-Chuan, a commentary on the Spring and Autumn Annals, displays its author's great concern for this very point. In this article, two dominant competitors in the Spring and Autumn Period, chin and Chu, are taken for examples for the study of their prerequisites for selecting and employing able men and what influence it had upon these two countries themselves. |
