英文摘要 | A microcomputer-based system for rapid and accurate measurement of the dimensions of aquatic organisms is described. The system is composed of a dimension measuring board, a category selector, and a microcomputer with an internal analog-to-digital converter card. When the organism is placed on the measuring board, a pointer on the board can move to touch the dimension of the specimen. A potentiometer circuit in the pointer transforms the displacement of the pointer into a voltage signal which can be collected by the microcomputer through the analog-to-digital converter. The system can measure the dimensions of organisms of up to 50 cm in length and/or width for an uncertainty less than ± 14 cm. The category selector has four user-defined keys and can be used to add supplemental information to the dimension data of the specimen. A BASIC program is written to carry out various functions including calibration of the system, dimension measurements, data and file input/output, and on-line statistical analyses of the data. This system can save considerable time and labor on mass measurements, reduce human errors by eliminating manual reading and recording of data, and improve measurement efficiency by giving statistical parameters on site. |
