中文摘要 | 臺灣杉(Taiwania cryptomerioides Hayta)為本省重要經濟樹種之一,其加工性質良好,且心材具有特殊之黃紅色澤,同時含有鮮紅色紋理,頗具特色。但遺憾的是,臺灣杉製品在加工完成,曝露於使用環境後,其鮮紅色紋理會隨時間的增加而逐漸深色化,最後變為暗黑色,喪失了吸引人之外觀,並降低了產品價值。因此,本研究之目的即欲探討環境因子對臺灣杉心材變色的影響。首先針對光線、氧氣和水分等環境因子,將臺灣杉心材在不同組合之環境下進行曝露試驗。結果顯示,光線及水分對臺灣杉心材深色化均具有影響,水分會使臺灣杉心材明亮度下降,即木材顏色變深及變黑,而光線會使臺灣杉心材顏色由黃紅色朝藍綠色之趨勢改變,此二者乃造成臺灣杉變色之主要因子。雖然氧氣單獨存在時,對臺灣杉心材之變色並不會產生明顯之影響,但是在光線與氧氣的共同作用下,卻會使心材表面產生明顯的變化。此外,本研究亦探討光波長對臺灣杉心材顏色變化之影響。將試片置於不同波長之光線下進行照光試驗,結果顯示,雖然不同波長之光線對臺灣杉心材顏色改變之趨勢是相同的,然而波長範圍在350-450nm之光線,對臺灣杉心材顏色變化之影響最劇。 |
英文摘要 | Taiwania cryptomerioides Hayta is one of the economically important tree species indigenous to Taiwan. The heartwood of Taiwania cryptomerioides is yellowish red with distinguished purplish pink streaks. However, it is susceptible to change to dull black after exposure to environmental conditions. This discoloration is a serious defect that degreases the value of Taiwania cryptomerioides products. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of environmental factors on the discoloration of Taiwania cryptomerioides heartwood. Results show that under the combined effects of light and oxygen the color of the heartwood changes from the yellowish red toward the bluish green. In addition, the color easiIy darkens and eventually turns to black due to the existence of moisture. Moreover, the effect of light wavelength on the discoloration of the Taiwania cryptomerioides heartwood is also investigated. Results reveal that the pronounced discoloration on the heartwood surface of Taiwania cryptomerioides is mainly induced by the Iight with wavelength in the range of 350-450nm. |
