英文摘要 | Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)/polyimide (PI) composite films were prepared from a binary solution, followed by coagulation and chemical imidization in a mixture of pyridine/acetic anhydride. The characteristics of the binary solutions were examined under the polarized optical microscope, and the morphology of the fractured surface and etched surface of the composite films was examined under scanning electron microscope. The results showed that reinforcement of PVE by the PI was achieved only when the rigid, rod-like PI chains were dispersed in the form of a polymer network in the PVC matrix. Phase separation of the PI molecules into granular particles dispersed “loosely” in the PVC matrix resulted into brittle composite films. |
