英文摘要 | It is true that the computerization of the wood product industry has been widely exercised in North America and West Europe during this decade. It is especially noticed in the newly established wood panel manufacturers since their production processes e.g. the material preparation, scheduling, operation and the production quality and finishing controls, have been maximized with the reliable computerized systems. The old established plants on the other hand, are also struggling to computerize their existing process flows in order to increase the productivity and production quality as well as the reducing production cost. The computerization of wood panel production and its control not only simplifys the complexity of its operation, but also unites the many dispersed processes. It not only reduces the latent problems of inconsistancy and inefficiency, but also greatly reduces the production shortcomings due to human interferences. The productivity and the operational efficiency therefore, can be greatly promoted. An attempt to computerize the existing hot press control mechanisms was carried out in Levesque Particleboard plant during the consultation period last year. It is an interesting and complex task since its planning, preparation, setting up and programming have to be carried out in accordance with the detailed existing system flows and the maximum computer capacity available. Generally, the newly established wood panel plants benefit from the integration of maximum computer control of processes available today from highly developed computer science and technological advances. Thus, from start to finish the design layout are all based on a concept of wholly computerized control. In contrast, the old fashioned wood panel production systems are mostly semi-automatic or manually controlled. The modification of the old set-ups with computerized control systems can be accomplished economically and practically as long as the key operational systems and their relative control mechanisms are properly clarified and made compatible. |
