中文摘要 | 由於政府政治戒嚴的解除,導致整個社會面臨轉型期的發展。在開放社會中,多元價值化體系的形成,使得一些教育迷思日趨嚴重。身為社會知識份子代表的教師,有必要對此開放社會中教師的角色,作一省思和展望。 開放社會代表一種社會生活秩序,在此社會中彼此珍視人類尊嚴與價值,並且普遍共享一切價值生活,一切行為和意識型態都可容許自由形成。 開放社會是暫時的社會,多元的社會,法治的社會和功績的社會。在此社會中教育發展取向,在促進公平社會流動,重視功績導向的社會發展,肯定多元社會價值體系,強調普及均等教育機會。 開放社會中,教師教學功能與角色仍為主要。但在學生知識傳授上,今天教師的地位不如過去權威;在技能教導上,教師功能有待自我充實;在情意陶治上,教師功能則必須加強重視。 在教師研究功能上,中小學教師有待加強充實,夫學教授則較稱職:在教師社會服務功能上,教師不應再是社會的「陌生人」,教師應積極發揮社會服務參與功能。 至於,做一個高附加價值的現代教師,應是現今開放社會中教師角色的自我期望。每位現代教師都應具備正確教育價值理念,要重視教育工作過程績效,能心懷教育關愛鼓勵學生,要主動積極參與教育工作,須不斷在職進修自我成長,如此才能迎合社會轉型期中教育發展之挑戰需求 |
英文摘要 | The lifting of martial law in the Republic of China has thrust the society into a period of change. In an open society, the evolution of a great variety of value systems increases the severity of educational misconceptions. As representatives of the intelligentsia, school teachers must evaluate and reconsider their role in an open society. An open society represents a societal order which emphasizes mutual rspect among citizens who share a common set of social values that accommodate freedom of action and beliefs. An open society is temporary, diverse, law abiding and achievement oriented. The developmental trend in such a society is to promote fairness in social mobility, to pursue effectivenes in social development, to acknowledge diversity of value systems and to emphasize equal educational opportunity for all. The function and role of teachers is critical in an open society, but in transmitting knowledge to students, the teacher is in a less authoritative position; in skill instruction, the teacher is in need of personal growth; in the affective domain, the teacher's role must be strengthened and emphasized. In terms of the research function of teachers, college professors are able to fulfil these needs but elementary and secondary school teachers remain to be upgraded and expanded in this area. In terms of the social service function of teachers, teachers must not remain a "stranger" in society. They must actively participate and express their social service role. To be a progressive teacher of high added value should be the personal goal of all teachers in modern open society. Every modem teacher should possess correct educational beliefs, value the process and product of educational work, cherish and encourage students, become actively involved in constructive educational work and continuously pursue personal professional growth. Only then can our teachers meet the challenge of educational needs and development in our society's stage of transition. |
