| 英文摘要 | 1. At low concentration (10??M), carbaryl (1-naphthyl N-methylcarbamate) had a stimulative effect on the germination of rice seeds. Both root and shoot growth were enhanced. However, increased the chemical concentration decreased the effect. Higher concentration may show an inhibitory effect on the germination. 2. Carbaryl was readily absorbed by rice root. The chemical absorbed was quickly transported to the leaves as indicated by the inhibition of the chemical to rice aryl acylamidase. 3. Treatment of carbaryl to the roots of rice seedlings decreased their growth. The seedlings showed necrosis at their leaf tips after one week of treatment. Soluble Nitrogen (extracted from 80% ethanol) of the treated seedlings increased more than 100% than the control. Probably the chemical inhibited the protein synthesis directly or indirectly and resulted in the accumulation of the free amino acids in the treated plants. |
