| 英文摘要 | The breeding behavior of hybrid progenies in Taiwan was continuously observed during 1967-1972 in order to find out a better way of selection. The experimental sites were so selected as to represent different latitudes and evironments of the Island: North-Taipei (25° 0' N), Central-Miaoli (24° 30' N), South-Pingtung (22° 40' N). The cross combinations tested were obtained in 1967 by crossing the variety NTU-KS 5 with PI 200492, 63-11 and 64-104, respectively. Their progenies, up to F7 were since then propagated and selected by employing four methods of selection (autumn-spring continuous, autumn only, spring only, no selection) at 3 different places and in 2 different seasons. Finally 81 strains and varieties were tested and analyzed in autumn, 1971 and spring, 1972 for the stability of their yield by taking into consideration the following 4 factors: site (latitude) of selection, site of cultivation, season (spring and/or autumn) of selection, season of cultivation. A summary of the experimental results as follows. 1. Progenies selected in the North showed a tendency of fewer branches and pods per plant and heavier weight per 100 seeds (particularly so in progenies derived from autumn-spring selection). 2. Progenies cultivated in the North showed a tendency of shorter growth duration, shorter stem, fewer branches and nodes per plant, fewer pods per plant (even when the selection took place in the Central and South), and lighter weight per 100 seeds. Progenies cultivated in the Central were taller, and with more numerous pods per plant and higher yield (kg/ha). 3. Progenies selected both in autumn and spring showed a tendency of fewer pods per plant and heavier weight 100 seeds, while progenies selected in spring were fairly stable in yield and more numberous in numbers of branches, nodes and pods per plant. 4. Progeneies cultivated in spring showed a tendency of longer growth duration, taller stem, more numerous branches, nodes and pods per plant, heavier weight per 100 seeds and higher yield. |
