英文摘要 | Because of its high oil and protein contents and the usefulness of them as constitutents of food and industrial products, soybean has long been regarded as an important crop, especially in Taiwan where population is increasing rapidly. In the past years, most of experiments have been conducted to increase the soybean yield; and relatively little attention has been paid to improve soybean quality and physiological factors that affect oil formation, i.e., the response of the oil forming mechanism to environment. This experiment was basically designed to study the influence of temperatures at pod-filling stage on the yield, oil and proteins of soybean seeds. This experiment was conducted at Phytotron of Taiwan Agriculture Research Center. Different temperatures treated at pod-filling stage of soybean were showed in Table 1. Soybean varieties of NTU-Koahsiung No, 5 and Tai-nung No. 3 were used. There were 6 Wagner's pots (1/2000 are) in each treatment. Each pot with three soybean plants received 0.5g, 1g, and 1g of N, P and K fertilizers, respectively. 84 Wagner's pots were required in this experiment. Seeds, when mature, were harvested to determine oil and protein contents. Semi-micro Kjedahl's method was used to determine total nitrogen content. Protein content is equal to the total nitrogen content multiplying with a factor of 6.25. Soxlet apparatus was adopted to extract and determine oil. Following conclusions were tentatively made: 1. When soybeans grow under normal condition, no matter what temperatures the pod-filling stage were, the yield, oil and protein contents of NTU-Koahsiung No. 5 were higher than those of Tai-nung No. 3. 2. High yield of soybean seeds was obtained when temperatures at Pod-filling stage were high. Fluctuating day and night temperatures at pod-filling stage affect the yield of soybean seeds more than constant day and night temperatures. 3. High oil content of soybean seeds was obtained when temperature treated at pod-filling stage was not lower than 25℃ in the case of NTU-Koahsiung No. 5 or day and night temperatures not lower than 30℃ and 20℃, respectively, in the case of Tai-nung No. 3. 4. Protein content of soybean seeds was affected by night temperature of pod-filling stage not by day temperature. Lower night temperature caused higher protein production. 5. Negative correlation between protein and oil contents was found in this experiment. |
