| 英文摘要 | Spatial cognition is regarded as a core component of human intelligence and a critical foundation for later academic achievement, particularly in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) domains. Spatial cognition encompasses multiple distinct spatial abilities, and prior research has shown that spatial abilities in early childhood are highly malleable. Not only do they respond well to targeted interventions, but the effects of such interventions can be sustained over time and transferred to other spatial abilities that are not directly trained. Accordingly, systematically assessing young children's spatial abilities during early childhood and providing appropriate support and guidance based on their learning needs can contribute to a deeper theoretical understanding of spatial development and yield substantial educational implications. However, empirical research on young children's spatial cognition remains limited in the domestic context, and systematic reviews of assessment tools are scarce. In response to this gap, the present article reviews and introduces assessment instruments commonly used internationally to measure spatial abilities in children aged 3 to 6 years, with the aim of informing future research and practice. The article first outlines the conceptual framework and theoretical foundations of spatial cognition, and then organizes representative assessment tools and related research applications according to four major types of spatial cognition (intrinsic-static, intrinsic-dynamic, extrinsic-static, and extrinsic-dynamic). Finally, the suitability and limitations of existing instruments are critically examined, and directions for future development are proposed. |
