| 英文摘要 | During the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, Yinyuan Longqi, the Chinese founder of the Ōbaku school in Japan, had a profound impact on Japanese culture. Due to the lack of scholarly inquiry into Ōbaku-related documents and the absence of comprehensive studies of existing research, this paper attempts to fill these gaps and provide prospects for future research. Firstly, this paper introduces the original documents collected in Japan, focusing on the woodblock-printed editions, manuscripts, and artwork housed in the Bunkaden Archive and Ōbaku Culture Research Institute within Manpukuji. It then comprehensively reviews the research conducted by Japanese scholars, starting from Mujaku Dōchū’s records of the Ōbaku school, the compilation of the Dictionary of Person’s Names in Ōbaku Culture (Ōbaku Bunka Jinmei Jiten 黄 檗 文 華 人 名 辞 典 ), to recent research trends. Next, the paper discusses the progress of research on the Ōbaku school from the perspective of the history of Sino-Japanese exchange and Chinese Chan studies, covering topics such as the study of Yinyuan’s life, collection and compilation of primary sources, calligraphy, and gardens. Finally, after introducing the research on Ōbaku by Western scholars, the paper summarizes the existing problems in current research and proposes nine points for future research. It is hoped that through this paper, researchers can more easily grasp the scope of Ōbaku-related documents and the current state of research and achieve the envisioned objective research that transcends sectarian history in future studies. With a comprehensive understanding of the cultural and social contexts of China and Japan, including the artistic and material culture represented by calligraphy and tea ceremony, this new direction in Ōbaku studies will make full use of extensive primary sources, paying due heed to tradition while breaking new ground. |
