| 英文摘要 | As a writer, Yan Lianke has sharp satire and the ability to observe reality, and most importantly, he has the courage to face the reality. Influenced by Czech writer Franz Kafka, Yan Lianke's novel The Four Books, which depicts the "universal misfortune" of evil and "the banality of evil" under the collective desire, won the Kafka Literature Prize in 2014. Through the disenchantment writing strategy, Yan Lianke revealed the historical truth of China in a specific period in The Four Books. Many intellectuals in The Four Books, faced with unbearable circumstances, have revealed the crimes hidden in the depths of human nature at the moment of life and death, which may not reflect the greatness of Yan Lianke as a writer, but the absurdity of history and the smallness of the times. Admittedly, although literature is not history, literature has the responsibility to speak to historical events and reflect on historical suffering. This is also the literary significance of Yan Lianke's writing of The Four Books. It is believed that with the passing of time, the ideological value of The Four Books in reflecting on history, revealing the truth, criticizing evil desire and other aspects will be more evident. |
