| 英文摘要 | This study investigates the effect of operating height and holding mode on psychophysically determined holding capacity related to Twenty-one Taiwanese young male were recruited to participate in this study. Independent variables include psychophysical method was used to operating height (elbow, shoulder and overreach heights) and holding mode (left, right and two hands). The response measures include maximum acceptable holding weight (MAWH), heart rate and rating of perceived exertion (RPE). Participants simulated overhead work to hold a box against a vertical surface for a three minutes holding time. The MAWH for overreach height was significantly greater than those of shoulder and elbow heights for about 12% and 22%, respectively. However, no significant effect was found on the heart rate and overall RPE. The effect of holding mode significantly influenced all measures. The MAWH for two hands was greater than those of right hand and left hand for about 31% and 40%, respectively. Further, participants perceived the most stressed body parts were the arms, shoulders, wrists and fingers. The high overall-RPE (13.31) and arms-RPE (16.34) indicated that the holding task is a very hard work. To minimize the potential risk of having MSDs at shoulder and upper extremity, ergonomically evaluated and redesigned holding task is needful. |
