| 英文摘要 | The historical plays of Shakespeare are a perfect interweaving of real history and fictional artistic creation, and they are also a collage of reality and fiction. From the perspective of New Historicism, Richard II reflects the social power structure and moral concepts of the time. In cross-cultural language conversion, different translators have provided distinctive translations of the play. Yu Erchang, a scholar who relocated from mainland to Taiwan in 1947, undertook the translation of Shakespearean plays because his alumnus Zhu Shenghao hadn’t yet completed the translation. However, what was particularly noteworthy was that the versions of four and half Shakespearean historical plays were subsequently discovered, including that of Richard II, in Zhu Shenghao’s posthumous manuscript. At the beginning of the new century, Fu Guangming, a scholar from mainland, translated Shakespeare plays, focusing on the relation between the original works and social and historical context of the time in cross cultural language conversion, maximizing the preservation of the “original flavor” of Shakespeare plays, and emphasizing the interaction between the translated works and the contemporary social context, so as to resonate with contemporary audiences. Through a comparative analysis of the unique linguistic charm and cultural translation strategies of Zhu’s version, Yu’s version and Fu’s version of Richard II, this paper tries to arouse people’s reflection on the Eastern andWestern cultural values behind Shakespeare plays, and further explore how to better inherit and carry forward the rich cultural connotations contained in Shakespeare plays in contemporary cultural exchanges. |
