| 英文摘要 | A 72-year-old man with biopsy proven left lower gingival squamous cell carcinoma was referred for a F-18 fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computer tomography (PET/CT) scan for pretreatment staging. Initial PET/CT images demonstrated two unexpected areas of FDG uptake in the pelvis. After we administered a diuretic and had the patient lie in prone position, the delayed PET/CT images showed two mobile calculi in a vesicular diverticulum. Magnetic resonance imaging and surgery subsequently confirmed synchronous sigmoid cancer and the diverticulum with calculi. This case demonstrates how diuresis and patient repositioning can enhance diagnostic certainty for incidental vesicular diverticulum detected during PET/CT scans of rectosigmoid cancers. These simple interventions highlight the value of adaptive imaging techniques in differentiating benign variants from clinically significant findings. |
