| 英文摘要 | Language policy reflects one country's democratic thinking and ideology. Before the reunification in 1975, different countries colonized Vietnam, which molded the multi-lingual and multi-literary phenomenon. Throughout Vietnamese history, three different kinds of characters-Chinese, Nom and Quoc Ngu were brought into practice. After Vietnam's "August Revolution" which gained its independence in 1945, Quoc Ngu became the official and universal character of the country. This article makes use of a historical review and current Vietnamese language policy to explore the changes in its language policy and its successful experiences and lessons. |
