| 英文摘要 | This article discusses the dispute over the demolition of the "Expansion Engineering Office" building involved in the traffic environment improvement project in the outer harbor area on the west bank of Keelung Port, as well as the positions of all parties in this incident. By identifying the cultural potential touched by this transportation construction and development, this article proposes that if the cultural value symbolized by the existing architectural structures can be beyond the understanding of physical preservation, it can be changed from the perspective of the port area's industrial culture supporting the local life network. From the standpoint of establishing local Taibaizhuang community revitalization, and integrating with public participation, we emphasize the preservation of the significance of port industry and expansion projects, interpret the support needed in the Taibaizhuang area in a more detailed way, and think more carefully about the development of the port area and urban areas. By putting the local imagination of life ahead of economic development and cultural preservation, the interpretation of inherited cultural assets may go beyond the presupposition of physical preservation. At the end of the article, it is proposed that if we can interpret the default position of port's expansion and development and the physical preservation of cultural assets in a way that continues the cultural context, it may be able to guide us towards a more tolerant social identity. |
