| 英文摘要 | Recent language testing research attempts to recognize sources of test bias, arisen from the result of differences in individual characteristics other than language proficiency. Personal attributes have been seen as potential variables responsible for inducing systematic differences in test performance. This paper reports the results of an empirical study of the relationship between foreign language anxiety, a personal attribute, and language measures. The results of factor analysis in the exploratory mode yield the underlying dimensions of foreign language anxiety for the present subjects. A stepwise multiple regression reveals that some components of foreign language anxiety account for a significant amount of variance on the cloze, dictation and multiple-choice language tests. The significance of the findings contributes directly to the construction of a theory of construct validity of foreign language anxiety and EFL test performance. The implications of these findings for further research are outlined. |
