英文摘要 | Objective: Most boxing injuries occur in the head and neck. Neck injury may lead to postural instability. The purpose of this study is to explore the differences in balance performance, range of motion (ROM) of the neck, and isometric strength between the boxers and the control group. Methods: 25 boxers and 25 non-sport major students from a physical education college were enrolled as the experimental and the control groups, respectively. The result of sensory organization test (SOT) conducted by using the Smart Balance Master and neck ROM and isometric strength conducted by using the microFET3, were compared between the two groups. Results: The SOT scores of the boxers were lower than control group. Significant differences were observed in condition 1, 2, 5, 6, and in the composite score. In the sensory analysis, somatosensory, visual, and vestibular ratios were lower in the boxer group compared with the control group. The difference in the vestibular ratio was also significant. The neck ROM was decreased in all six directions in the boxer group. The differences in flexion, extension, right rotation, and left rotation were significant. In contrast, the neck isometric strengths in all six directions were higher in the boxer group. All differences were significant in flexion, right lateral flexion, left lateral flexion, right rotation, and left rotation. Conclusion: Compared to the controls, the boxers generally scored lower in the balance test, had a reduced neck ROM, and showed increased neck isometric strength. |
