英文摘要 | Among categories of archaic popular fiction in Taiwan, the value of martial arts novels have always been underestimated. Viewed as an iconic popular fiction writer using classical Chinese in Taiwan under the colonization by Japanese, Li Yi-tao had composed many martial arts novels with frequent appearances of heroines' images therein, and such precious heritage for posterity is undoubtedly valuable for nowadays researchers in the field of Taiwan's literature; for that reason, this study takes Li's short works of martial arts novels published on Taiwan Nichinichi Shinpo in classical Chinese for a basic range, seeking to analyze those images of the heroines in such kind of novels. Unlike the opinion of influential researchers before, this paper argues that Li's apparently ideal images of heroines are far away from the positive attitude toward the female; these heroines' images of mystery could be viewed as a hint of marginalization, which pushes this gender to the side of "the Other," and therefore women could just never stand high in the "Subject - the Other" spectrum as men always does. Hopefully through the effort of this study, the probably more holistic understanding and comprehension of such kind of literature works could be brought into view. |
