英文摘要 | Wearable devices are products of advanced electronic technology, and their various accessories and sensors make them an ideal component for symbiotic systems that record and interpret users' cognitive and affective states and the respond accordingly. Wristband wearable devices are mainly used to track users' health and fitness conditions, such as sleep, calories burned, heart rate, and distance travelled in real time. Though user acceptance of information systems has been widely discussed and verified, unique features of wearable symbiotic devices merit further investigation, as in this study. These features include the redeployment of the human-computer interface from external devices onto the body itself, concerns about perceived comfort and privacy of the devices, and others. An Internet questionnaire survey was conducted based on the case of the Xiaomi Mi Band. Based on 548 valid responses, two models, representing users and nonusers, were established and analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM) to evaluate the proposed research framework. Major research findings indicate: (1) attitude, social influences, and facilitating conditions are three essential antecedents to behavioral intention of the Mi Band; (2) for prospective Mi Band users, technology anxiety, novelty, and effort expectancy are important factors for favorable attitude; (3) for current Mi Band users, familiarity, effort expectancy, and perceived comfort affect their good attitude the most. Based on these findings, practical guidance for promoting wearable devices is suggested. |
