中文摘要 | 兒茶素屬於黃酮類分子,由於具有相當高的抗氧化能力,而且普遍存在於食物中,所以格外引人注意。兒茶素具有一些藥理作用,例如抗腫瘤、抗氧化及抗病毒等活性,然而兒茶素是否能夠改善細菌脂多醣(lipopolysaccharide, LPS)誘發的內毒素休克反應仍不清楚。大白鼠先接受4週兒茶素補充,補充方式是讓大白鼠自由飲用含有兒茶素的水(每100毫升含有60毫克),經過4週補充後,再經由腹腔注射LPS(每公斤體重5毫克)誘發內毒素休克反應。實驗結果證明LPS注射6小時後,兒茶素補充明顯改善LPS誘發的低血壓反應,然而並無法改善頻脈現象及多重器官衰竭。總結而言,兒茶素補充能夠改善內毒素性低血壓反應,其機制需進一步探討。 |
英文摘要 | Catechins are flavonoids that have particularly attracted attention because of their relative high antioxidant capacity and their abundance in human diet. Catechins have been known to have a variety of physiological activities, such as anti-carcinogenic, anti-oxidant, anti-viral activities. However, it is unclear whether catechins improve bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced endotoxic shock. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of catechins on LPS-induced endotoxic shock in rats. The rats received 4 week-catechin-supplementation with free access to catechin-supplemented water (60 mg/dL water), and water replaced daily. Following 4 week-water or catechin-containing water supplementation, endotoxic shock was conducted by administration of LPS (5 mg/kg BW, i.p.) in rats. Results demonstrated that catechins supplementation significantly improved LPS-induced hypotension. However, catechins did not attenuate tachycardia and multiple organ failure of rats at 6 hr post LPS-administration. In conclusion, catechins supplementation can improve endotoxic hypotension, its mechanism need further investigated. |
