英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to examine dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) for liver fat content (LFC) quantitative analysis. Two phantoms were used in this study: one was made up by porcine liver and fat; the other one was glucose solution mixed with butanol. Tubes containing mixtures with known fat concentrations were scanned on a DECT scanner using dual-energy scanning protocols (80 kV/Sn140 kV (stannum, Sn) and 100 kV/Sn140 kV). LFC was calculated from DECT data and compared with the known LFC (0%、10%、20%、30%、40%、100%). Attenuation curves obtained from DECT were used to describe attenuations of various degrees of LFC at different energies. The phantom of porcine liver/fat mixtures was not used for liver fat quantification because porcine liver is not living liver and fat cannot enter into porcine liver via the hepatic artery and portal vein. The increase of fat content did not show a decline of Hounsfield units (HU). This may be due to inhomogeneity in porcine liver and fat mixtures. The results show a correlation between DECT measurements and known LFC (R^2>0.99, P<0.005). Attenuation curves obtained from DECT data can be used for discriminating various degrees of LFC. DECT will be a reliable tool for liver fat quantification. |
