英文摘要 | Background: Non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infection is a rare postoperative wound complication that may need repeated surgical debridement and long-term antibiotic therapy. Aim and Objectives: Integrate our clinical experience with literature review to propose a treatment strategy of post operation NTM infection Materials and Methods: We present two cases of young and healthy women who developed postoperative chronic soft tissue infection caused by NTM.Results: The patients were successfully treated with a combination of surgical debridement and antibiotic therapy for 6 months, without reports of infection recurrence during this period. Conclusion: Surgical wound infection caused by NTM is uncommon. There is no evidence based guideline, well-established treatment protocol, or standard antibiotic regimen for their treatment. A combination of surgical debridement and long-term antibiotics treatment has been suggested. We reviewed related literature to determine a reasonable clinical approach and treatment algorithm. |
