英文摘要 | This study analyzes the effects of personality traits, social climate, and self-efficacy on the imagination of engineering majors, and tests the mediating effects of personality traits on student imagination through social climate and self-efficacy. A total of 465 undergraduates, enrolled in computer and electrical engineering programs, participated in the study. The results showed that openness exerts strong effects on student imagination, and indirectly predicts imagination through social climate and self-efficacy. Agreeableness also exerts indirect effects on student imagination through the same mediators. Conscientiousness directly predicts conceiving imagination and indirectly predicts student imagination through self-efficacy. Neuroticism only predicts transforming imagination through social climate. Extraversion only exerts an effect on initiating imagination. This study contributes to the structural view on how personality traits predict the imagination of engineering majors through social climate and self-efficacy. |
