中文摘要 | 孔子之有教無類和因材施教,是我國教育的崇高理念。由於數位媒介快速發展,教師與學生在知識的傳承上,已不是傳統上以上對下的關係;而是由教師與學生共同平等、參與的新模式,這種模式類似孔子另一教育理念-教學相長。本文以通識教育的教學為例,來說明教學相長理念的實踐。由於通識教育之目的在推行均衡教育、培養學生自我發展與創新的能力,期透過適當之數位媒介,以達成培養學生兼有人文與科技素養及國際視野的全人教育之理想。對教師而言,數位媒介可增加教學方式與資源取得之途徑,並強化教學效能;且能依據學習目標及學生特性進行「因材施教」。目前數位媒介被應用最多且成熟的,當屬網際網路中之YouTube,其已是全球最大的共通影像傳播平台之一。由於YouTube具有開放式、共同腦力激盪、再創作等特性,其可藉以鼓勵學生參與課程內容的設計、教材製作、習題創作的分卒,使教學精神提升至教學相長的境界。本文在研究應用YouTube於通識教育課程時,發現其有活化教材、激勵學生共同參與製作教材,並從教中學習、鼓勵集體創作、國際交流、開放教育空間等潛在優點。吾人相信,藉由數位媒介的便利性和再創作性,可使通識教育課程教學產生優質的變化。 |
英文摘要 | Confucius's "to provide education for all people without discrimination" and "to teach according to student's ability" principles have always been upright goals of education in our culture for more than 2500 years. Nowadays, because of the rapid growth of both the Internet technology and information, classroom is no longer the only place to learn and to teach like it was before. In addition, unlike the traditional point of view, relation between teachers and their students have become more like partners during the process of learning and teaching. In other words, “teachers learn (from students) while they’re teaching, students teach (their teachers) while they’re learning” (in short, Teaching and Learning). Both of them might work together to organize, create, and manage all of the events in the class such as editing the contents of the learning materials. This paper intends to explain the above mentioned educational concepts, three of them, through the practice of general education. Among all of the teaching curriculums in a university, general education plays a major role in campus. General education usually gives students more rooms/motivations to develop their own potential in all respects, yet how to make the digitized media more interesting and to attract students to learn effectively is still a major challenge we have to face. For teachers, the teaching materials of digitized media can offer more teaching methods and flexibility, and enhance the effectiveness of teaching. For students, the materials of digitized media can provide more diversity and selection. In the digitized media, YouTube is the most widely used and mature. Because of its high popularity among college student groups, which makes us start thinking to design a new way of using YouTube as a teaching and learning tool in our general education class. The main idea of using YouTube as a tool is to set up a platform for teachers and students to create and discuss their class materials and run the learning process together. Under the circumstance, a teacher would be more like a partner rather than a supervisor of the student. |
