中文摘要 | 清代諸子學的發展是多個面向的,一來學者受到「正統派」考據學影響,由名物訓詁學入手,堅持「治子通經」的理念。一來又積極聯擊西學、儒學、佛學,欲由嶄新的方法會通、詮釋,以改造先秦子學為目的,可以說晚清子學之保守與創新態度是並存的。嚴復《評點老子道德經》、劉師培《老子斠補》為晚清至民初《老》學研究的專著,然二子之詮解《老于》則採取不同的態度。嚴復《評點老子道德經》由評點入手,並整理《老子》、《易》學、佛學、西學的義理,是為晚清《老》學中西調和的先驅,其論述《老》學能攝入嶄新之義理,故具有創新意義。劉師培的《老》學則以正統派名物訓詁之專門著手,針對先秦漢魏之注疏作輯錄與考究,稟持闡述古義之理念,對於晚清民初子學與乾嘉學術之會通,則劉師培亦有其貢獻。本文以為晚清的《老子》研究並不違離乾嘉考據的研究方法,然基於詮解態度之迥異,實具備創新與保守的雙重意義,故以嚴復、劉師培之《老》學研究為線索,進以論說其中創新與保守之趨勢。 |
英文摘要 | The development of philosophers' study in late Qing Dynasty was of multiple dimensions. On the one hand, the scholars were affected by textual criticism of "orthodox school;" they started from textual criticism of names and descriptions and exegetics, and insisted on the concept of "researching on the philosophers and mastering classics." On the other hand, they positively combined Western learning, Confucianism and Buddhism, would like to integrate and interpret by means of completely-new methods, and took reforming philosophers' study of pre-Qin times as the target. We can say that the conservative and innovative attitudes co-existed in philosophers' study in late Qing Dynasty. Yan Fu's "Comment on Dao De Jing by Laozi" started from making the comment, and sorted out the argumentations of "Lao Zi," studies of “ Zhou Yi (the Book of Changes,)" Buddhism and Western learning, and he was the pioneer of integrating Sino-Western studies in philosophers' study in late Qing Dynasty; his exposition of studies of "Lao Zi" could cite a fresh argumentation, and had an innovative significance in development of philosophers' study in late Qing Dynasty. Liu Shi-pei's research of studies of "Lao Zi" began from the special field of textual criticism of names and descriptions and exegetics of orthodox school, aimed at the notes and commentaries of pre-Qin times , Han and Wei Dynasties to compile, observe and study, and adhered to the concept of expounding ancient meaning; for blending harmoniously and grasping thoroughly philosophers' study in late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, and academic research in the reigns of Emperors Qianlong and Jiaqing, Liu Shi-pei had his contribution. The thesis was of the opinion that the research of studies of "Lao Zi," in late Qing Dynasty did not violate and diverge from the research methods of textual criticism in the reigns of Emperors Qianlong and Jiaqing. However, based on interpretative attitudes' being entirely different, actually it had the double significance of being innovative and conservative. Therefore, the thesis took Yan Fu's and Liu Shi-pei's research of studies of "Lao Zi" as the clues to do exposition and argumentation of innovative and conservation inclinations of interpretation of philosophers' study in late Qing Dynasty. |
