英文摘要 | The physiological role of nitric oxide (NO) in rice plants is reviewed. Evidence indicates that exogenous application of NO is effective in reducing paraquat-induced toxicity, and abscisic acid-, methyl jasmonate-, water stress-, and H2O2-promoted senescence in detached rice leaves. Cadmium (Cd) and excess copper (Cu) are toxic for rice seedlings. Cd and Cu-induced toxicity in detached rice leaves can be alleviated by exogenous NO. Evidence is also provided to show that NO is required for iron deficiency-induced Cd accumulation and OsIRT1 expression in rice roots.Of particular interest is the finding that NO participates in regulating the formation of lateral roots, root hairs, and crown roots. |
