英文摘要 | Eyjafjallajökull Volcano in Iceland erupted on 14 April, 2010, and its consequences were of a 7-day shut to commercial flights which caused many tourist groups stranded in Europe. In response to the Force Majeure travel crisis, the travel agents' emergent management was: 1. the tour leaders reported the local situation immediately to their travel agents in Taiwan; 2. to find a solution of hotels, restaurants, and traffic instruments; 3. to coordinate a new schedule; 4. to report to the Tourism Bureau. When emergency, the travel agents often called for help from local agents, airlines, and cooperated restaurants and merchants, but called for help from the government less for its slow action. Although the claims expenses of an additional clause of travel liability insurance could not cover the money spent on travelers stranded in Europe, according to the official regulation, the travel agents have to cost the additional expenditure themselves. Hence, for the benefits both, the travel contracts and the insurance claims provisions ought to be improved in the future. |
