中文摘要 | 本養殖試驗探討紫外線照射對於甲魚成長、組織維生素D3與背甲強度之影響。試驗之甲魚皆餵飼不含維生素D3的飼料,並分兩組飼養於每日以紫外線(UVb)照射0或8小時的環境中。試驗養殖期為12週。飼養在無紫外線光照環境之甲魚其增重百分率顯著(p < 0.05)的高於每日照射8小時紫外線的甲魚。而得到紫外線光照的甲魚,其肝臟與肌肉中所含的維生素D3則顯著的高於飼養在無紫外線環境下的甲魚。此外,得到紫外線照射的甲魚之背甲強度亦極顯著(p < 0.01)的強於未經紫外線照射的甲魚。紫外線照射與否則未顯著(p ≥0.05)影響甲魚之體組成。本試驗之結果顯示甲魚有能力經由紫外線之激發產生維生素D3。在飼料不含維生素D3的情況下,缺乏紫外線導致甲魚體內之維生素D3、鈣、磷濃度降低,且甲魚之背甲強度亦顯著的變弱。 |
英文摘要 | A growth trial was performed to investigate the effect of light (UVb) exposure on the growth, tissue vitamin D status, and carapace strength of soft-shelled turtles. The turtles were kept in environments with either 0 or 8 h of UVb-exposure per day and fed a casein-based vitamin D-free diet for 12 weeks. Weight gain of the turtles kept in 24 h darkness was significantly (p < 0.05) higher than those exposed to UVb. Both liver and muscle vitamin D content of turtles exposed to light were greater (p < 0.05) than the turtles kept in dark. Calcium and phosphorus concentrations are generally higher in liver for soft-shelled turtles reared under UV-exposure than those without UV-exposure. Bone tissue of UV-exposed turtles contained higher calcium as well. Furthermore, carapace strength was highly significantly stronger (p < 0.01) for turtles exposed to UVb than those kept in darkness. No difference (p ≥ 0.05) was detected between the body proximate compositions of these two groups. The results indicated that soft-shelled turtles were able to manufacture vitamin D through UVb exposure. Insufficient light exposure resulted in low vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus content as well as weak carapace in soft-shelled turtles when dietary vitamin D was not available. |
