英文摘要 | The Stirling engine was invented by Robert Stirling in 1816. It had been largely used owing to it is more efficient and safer than a comparable steam engine. In the early twentieth century the role of the Stirling engine was gradually taken over by the electric motor and small internal combustion engines. Towards the end of the twentieth century, several companies developed research prototypes of medium-power engines and in some cases went into small production. A mass market was never achieved because the unit costs were very high and some technical problems remained unsolved. Now in the twenty-first century, in light of concerns such as peak oil and climate change, the characteristics of high efficiency, quiet operation, and the ease with which it can use almost any heat source, this engine is currently an exciting interest to many research institutes around the world. This paper describes the applications of Stirling engine in Concentrated Solar Power (CSP), Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) for submarines, space exploration, military, and other commercial fields. |
