| 英文摘要 | Two cultivars of hot pepper, 'Golden Heat' and 'Yellow Fruit', were used in this study. To understand the effect of the direction of fruit growth on the seed activity. The fruit of the two hot peppers have different growth directions (up or down). The seed quality after flowering 60 days was then evaluated. The dry weight of seeds from the fruit bottom of the 'Golden Heat' hot pepper were significantly higher than those obtained from the fruit tail. The protein content of seeds from the fruit bottom was significantly higher than that of seeds from the fruit tail. After accelerated-aging treatment, CO2 production and the conductivity of seeds from the fruit bottom were significantly higher than those of seeds from the tail, while no significant difference in the germination rate. For the 'Yellow Fruit' hot pepper, the conductivity of seeds from the fruit bottom was significantly lower than that of seeds from the tail after accelerated aging treatment; the protein content of seeds from the fruit head was also significantly higher than that of seeds from the fruit tail. These results indicated that the direction of yellow fruit growth affects the quality of the seeds. |
