中文摘要 | 本試驗旨在探討外科去勢對公雞骨骼及血液性狀之影響。試驗選用畜試土雞台畜肉十三號公雞176隻,於6 週齡逢機分為去勢與假去勢處理組,並餵給生長期飼料(6 至18 週齡)及肥育期飼料(19 至26 週齡),試驗期間水與飼料採任食,並給予自然光照,試驗至26 週齡結束,每組秤重、採血及屠宰10 隻雞。結果顯示,正常公雞之血漿睪固酮(testosterone)濃度顯著(P < 0.05)高於閹公雞,但血漿中抑血鈣素(calcitonin)、離子鈣(ionized calcium)、總鈣、無機磷、鎂之濃度及鹼性磷酸酶(alkaline phosphatase)之活性則顯著(P < 0.05)低於閹公雞,但對血漿中副甲狀腺素(parathyroid hormone)之濃度並無顯著影響。閹公雞之脛骨重量、脛骨相對重量(relative tibia weight)、脛骨相對長度 (relative tibia length)、脛骨寬度、皮層厚度(cortical thickness)、破裂強度(breaking strength)與骨骼灰分、鈣、磷及鎂含量等均顯著(P < 0.05)低於正常公雞,但脛骨長度於二者間則無顯著差異。閹公雞之骨骼外觀畸形率(彎曲幅度及關節腫脹程度)高於正常公雞。由本試驗結果發現,公雞體內的雄性素含量會直接影響骨骼組成的流動、蓄積及溶解。 |
英文摘要 | This experiment was conducted with cockerels to determine the effect of caponization on bone and blood characteristics of male Taiwan Country Chickens. A total of one hundred and seventy-six 6-week-old LRI native chicken cockerels, Taishi meat No.13, from LRI-COA were used as experimental animals. Cockerels were individually weighed and surgically caponized or shamed at 6 weeks of age. Birds were fed grower (6 weeks to 18 weeks) and finisher (19 weeks to 26 weeks) diet ad libitum and received a nature light during the experimental period of twenty weeks. Ten birds of each groups were weighed, bled and slaughtered at 26 weeks of age. The results showed that plasma testosterone concentration were significantly (P < 0.05) higher in intact males while capons had a higher (P < 0.05) plasma calcitonin, ionized calcium, total calcium, inorganic phosphorus, magnesium concentrations and alkaline phosphatase activities. However, the plasma parathyroid hormone did not differ between the capons and intact cockerels. Beside, caponization of cockerels decreased the tibia weight, relative tibia weight, relative tibia length, tibia width, cortical thickness, breaking strength and bone ash, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium contents (P < 0.05). Caponization had no effect on tibia length. Besides, capons demonstrated a more serious tibiae abnormalities (bowed and swollen) than intact chickens. These findings support that the androgens can directly influence bone compositions fluxes, deposition and desorption effects in male chickens. |
