| 英文摘要 | This article aims to explore the possible difficulties of improving moral education in the postmodern society, and to interpret Confucius‟ thoughts in order to respond to these problems. First, the characteristics of postmodern society are analyzed as uncertainty, consumer society, and role-floating. Secondly, three issues, about postmodern moral education are addressed. The first issue is: “Which standard should we apply to making a moral judgment?” The second one is: “How to evoke our moral conscience?” The third and the last issue is: “Why should we take up our moral responsibility?” Finally, the authors provide three suggestions for postmodern moral education according to Confucius‟ thoughts: the first is that benevolence (仁) can be adopted as a workable moral principle; the second is that the will to truth (道) can be seen as an important goal of moral instructions; and the third is that respecting oneself and others (修己以敬) can be taken as a fundamental moral action. |
