英文摘要 | Continuity of rehabilitation is essential in stroke patient. The efficacy of the initial stage taking rehabilitation affects the outcomes after stroke. We found that the executing rate of passive joint range of motion (ROM) for stroke patient was 37.5% in April 2009. The main causes included nursing staff was inadequate for ROM, lacking of auditing system, insufficient nursing instruction and caregiver took turns doing ROM. The purpose of this project was to improve their implementation of passive joint ROM in acute episode stroke patients and to prevent their muscle atrophy and joint stiffness. The project team conducted ROM education and training for promoting nursing staff's competence. Besides, we made a film for providing patients and their caregivers learning ROM; furthermore, establishing auditing system and periodic examining the result. After implementing strategies, the executing rate of ROM increased to 90%. Our strategies improved the efficacy of the initial stage outcomes in stroke patients, reduced physical disabilities and enhanced the satisfaction during hospitalization. |
