英文摘要 | Purposes: This study investigates the innovation process and adoption of Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) at one Taiwanese hospital using the Diffusion of Innovation Theory developed by Rogers. Methods: This study adopted the case study method and used in-depth interviews and archival data to collect research data. Results: According to research results, whether HPH is adopted depends on a hospital’s acceptance of organizational innovation and its perspective toward the external environment. Furthermore, the attitudes of hospital leaders toward change and innovation play an important role in innovation diffusion. Moreover, the HPHs diffusion process may generate risks and make an organization unstable. Thus, effective management must be involved at the same time as hospitals implement HPHs. Conclusions: To cultivate knowledge, ability, and attitudes associated with HPHs among organization members, health marketing via information technology and the media, and formation of a healthy organizational culture are equally important. |
