中文摘要 | 牙周病是一種牙周的軟組織與硬組織因炎性反應產生的破壞所造成的疾病。牙周病與發炎反應之間的關連已被詳加研究;而近來許多著眼於IL-8對造骨、蝕骨細胞之影響的研究指出,IL-8可能在牙周病的骨吸收表現上扮演了相當重要的角色。作爲生物體中重要的趨化激素之一,interieukin-8(IL-8)具有召集白血球、活化白血球的反應、以及引發血管新生作用等多種生理功能;並能促進數種癌細胞的轉移和生長。生物體牙周組織受到感染後,組織中的IL-8增加,吸引嗜中性球,周邊血液中的單核球還有T淋巴球聚集到感染發生的區域,並引發活化含氧物reactive oxygen species (ROS)、促炎性反應的細胞激素interleukin-1(IL-l)、tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)、interleukin-6(IL-6)等物質的釋放;而這些物質皆可以直接或間接的對組織造成傷害與破壞齒槽骨質。本文即是探討IL-8引發牙周骨吸收反應的可能機轉。 |
英文摘要 | Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease that characterized by the destruction of periodontium both the soft tissue and the bone. The relationship between periodontitis and inflammatory process has been investigated. Recent studies on the interaction of chemokine IL-8 and osteoblasts/osteoclasts suggest that IL-8 may play an important role in the bone resorption of periodontitis. Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a chemokine with multiple biological functions, including recruiting and activating leukocytic cells, promoting their function, and inducing angiogenesis as well as taking parts in the metastases and growth of several cancers. The level of IL-8 is elevated during periodontal infection. IL-8 attracts neutrophils, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and T cells to the site and induce the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS), proinflammatory cytokines including IL-1, TNF-α, IL-6 and other mediators that can directly or indirectly cause bone destruction. This brief review is to summarize the possible links between the elevation of IL-8 and bone destruction in periodontal disease. |
