英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to investigate how English teachers assess college non-English major students' oral proficiency, teachers' preferences of test methods for evaluating students' speaking skills, and how their background characteristics influenced their selecting of tasks. Research question one investigated teachers' general preferences of using test tasks for assessing students' oral proficiency, and research question two explored how generally the teachers' attitudes toward teaching speaking. Regarding the data analysis, the qualitative data of individual interviews was also conducted to support the quantitative data in this study. The researcher finally suggested that teachers should have clear test purposes: to make sure if the chosen tasks can really elicit learners' oral performance and that is exactly what they target to evaluate about. |
