英文摘要 | Hypertension-related cardiovascular and cerebral vascular diseases are the top ten mortality in Taiwan. The risk factors for hypertension and its complication include genetic and environment factors which may interact with severe outcome. It has been shown that chronic inflammation is one of the major mechanisms responsible for hypertension and atherosclerosis, particularly cytokines playing a major role. We expect to elucidate the relationship of hypertension and cytokine gene polymorphism, which will provide us more understanding for the pathogenesis of hypertension. Moreover, it will support the pharmacogenomic basis of developing new drugs for the treatment of hypertension. |
