中文摘要 | 數十年以來,電腦輔助教學在台灣已成為第二外語教學中最熱門的議題。許多學 者、教師認為用電腦教英文較有效率及有趣。那麼,用電腦教發音是否比傳統教學有效 呢? 本研究旨在為國立高雄海洋科技大學四技生探索一套最有效的發音教學法。進而提 升他們對英文的興趣及信心及加強其英文的溝通能力。42 位學生選修英文學程的口語訓 練課(兩學分)。學生分為兩組:傳統授課和電腦輔助教學組。授課內容皆為音段(母 音及子音)、拼音練習、超音段(重音及語調)。每位學生皆須接受前測及後測。後測結 果顯示兩組學生進步許多。尤其,電腦輔助教學組比傳統授課教學組略勝一籌。換言之, 電腦輔助發音教學較有效率。 總之,良好的發音不但能建立學生的信心和興趣,也能提升其溝通能力。因此,這 套發音教學法對高雄海洋科大四技學生而言極具教學意義及迫切需求性。 |
英文摘要 | Computer-assisted instruction (CAI) has become one of the hottest issues on second language teaching in Taiwan for decades. Many scholars and teachers of ESL/EFL believed that teaching English by computers was more effective and interesting. Thus, the research hypothesis was: pronunciation teaching by computers was more effective than the traditional lecture instruction. This study attempts to explore the most effective way of pronunciation teaching for the college students at National Kaohsiung Marine University (NKMU). Then to motivate their interest and confidence in English. Finally, to make their communication more fluently and successfully while speaking English. 42 students took the two-credit course: Oral Training of the Honor Program. They were divided into two groups: traditional lecture instruction and computer-assisted instruction group. Both groups studied segaments (vowels and consonants), sound combination and supra-segaments (stress and intonation). Each participant had a pre-test and a post-test. Results of this study showed all the participants made improvements on the post-test. Besides, the CAI was more effective than the traditional lecture instruction. To conclude, the comprehensible pronunciation can not only build the students’ confidence and interest in English but also promote their communication. Thus, pronunciation teaching has become the most crucial and significant for the college students at NKMU. |
