英文摘要 | Sculpture is generally classified as "visual art". In fact, it is also perceptible by touch. In many cultures, touch is necessary in order to properly "read" the sculpture, for it is able to deliver messages that are beyond the merely visual. This means that perceptions affect the expression of sculptures. In 1915, Heinrich Wölfflin, a Swiss art historian. Suggested a sculpture classification based on both visual and tactile perceptions. He related these perceptions to both the style and beauty of sculptures. This study, following Wölfflin's classification of sculptures, uses the binary relationship between visual and tactile modalities to analyze the relationship between the cognitive perceptions, and styles and expressions of the sculptures. Some real works are given as evidence. Thus, this study provides a good reference for creating the expression of sculptures. |
