中文摘要 | 成長小說是德國文學術語,它有特殊的生成背景,主要是十八世紀德國理想主義孕育而成,因此成長小說具有文化和哲學方面的回聲。成長的意義在於個體尋找自我的過程,藉由心靈在現實世界中的碰撞體以體會生命的各種價值,形成完整的人格,獲得自我了解。其特色有形式冗長、高度自傳性、缺少斷然結局……等。典範之作是歌德的《威廉.邁斯特的學習時代》。而成長小說也在英美開枝散葉,形成各自的文學傳統。但與德國作品相較,英國的成長英雄教育社會壓力,而美國的英雄則較少以融入社會為結局。二十世紀的中國與臺灣,雖然並無成長文學的傳統,但也有不少關於成長主題的創作,並興起研究的熱潮,但屬於我們的成長小說的發展脈絡應被建立。由德國的傳統而下,「成長小說」不斷有所開展,是一個可被擴充定義的文類。 |
英文摘要 | Bildundsroman, home to humanitatsideal (ideal of humanity), is a Germany literary term, and has both cultural and philosophical resonance. It concerns the process of forming the wholeness of personality and acquiring self-realization of the individual whose inner mind is impacted by realistic situation during searching for himself. The characteristics of this genre are dissusive, self-reflective, and empty of determined ending. The respresentative work of Bildungsroman is Goethe's Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre. In American English literature, Bildungsroman is expanded and developed. On one hand, Germany fictions rarely portrayed societal pressure than English ones. On the other hand, Germany hero is adapted to the society while the American hero is not. Now in Chinese and Taiwanese literature, there are so many writings highlighting the younger generation and rising the interests to study. We should build our own sequence of the works about adolescent. From the Germany's tradition, Bildungsroman has always been a richer exploration and it's definition should be expanded. |
