英文摘要 | Is Hsia Yu's poetry difficult to comprehend? How are we to appreciate her writing strategies from her play of ideas; or to enjoy the rich layers of her poetic imageries through an analysis of the wordings in detail? Al though her poetry provides a ground for discussions on gender consciousness, she is by no means an extremist of feminism. Rather, she fits much closely Gaston Bachelard's (1884-1962) notion of a poet of the reverie. Based on Hsia Yu's imagery-oriented thinking method , we could perceive her capability to temper and to shape the language, to unbind the consciousness from whatever restraint in existence , and to pursue poetic imaginations free of any surveillance. With the help of reverie as a catalyst to congeal emotions and memories, and using some simple , day-to-day happenings as a foundation, she has built an objective world full of powerfuI conception. By reverie, we mean a tranquil state of abstracted musing, of absorption , which escorts us away from the mundane time frame. The inexplicable charm of Hsia Yu's poetry springs rightly from this feminine, deep and serene domain.
